Magnifi Completes Successful Beta Test of its Web-Based Book Publishing Platform with Google’s Translate
Any Book Instantaneously Translated Into Over 55 Languages
San Diego, CA – December 10, 2009 – Magnifi Group, Inc., considered by many industry observers to have one of the most innovative online publishing tools for textbooks, announced today that its Interactive Educational Platform (IEP) successfully interfaces with Google’s Translate – an extension of Google’s Chrome browser that allows users to select from over 55 languages.
Magnifi’s IEP is a web-based publishing platform that takes an existing hard copy textbook and brings it to life via the world of the Internet. The IEP’s features include the ability to:
- Custom Publish within the book
- Embed YouTube tutorials and other rich media into the content
- Teachers and students interfacing within the same book via notes and instruction
- Integrate testing and certification
- Link words and graphics to additional content on the web
- Make real time updates to the content
Glenn Abel, CEO of Magnifi Group, said reaction from educators, students and publishers to the IEP and its continued ability to interface with new web-based technologies has been overwhelmingly positive. “We listened to what educators and students wanted from their next-generation textbook and we are now proud to offer them a platform that not only achieves their wish list, but also accommodates the requirements of the publishers.” Abel added that the IEP can take any textbook title and automatically transform it into a true web-based format.
The IEP is compatible with Safari, Firefox, Chrome and Explorer browsers. An iPhone version will be released in the first quarter of 2010. Magnifi currently has a number of pilots with leading textbook publishers underway and has secured the commitment from one of the industry’s leading textbook distributors to distribute titles published on the IEP to over 2,000 college bookstores.
